Traditional Mango Pickle|Mango Thokku|Raw Mango Thokku Recipe, Usually pickles are made with bite sized piecesof vegetables but thokku is a type of South Indian pickle are made with grated vegetables, grated mango. Even we can made pickles with meat, sea food like prawn pickle, chicken pickle etc. So, the ingredients used in this thokku recipe are grated raw mango, oil, red chili powder, mustard seeds, turmeric powder, roasted fenugreek seed powder, curry leaves, kashmiri chili powder, salt to taste, hing.

How to make Traditional Raw Mango Thokku:

Firstly take a pan and add in oil, mustard seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, kashmiri chili powder, grated raw mango. Mix well, saute it and cook till the oil separates.

Now add in salt to taste, roasted fenugreek seed powder, give a mix and cook for 2 minutes in low flame.

Finally Raw mango thokku is ready to serve or store it in air tight container and refrigerate it for more shelf life.

Traditional Mango Thokku|Raw Mango Thokku Recipe|Mango Thokku is a traditional pickle recipe, it is made with grated vegetables. It goes well with idly, dosa, chapathi, rice, curd rice, parathas.

  • Pan
  • 1 Raw Mango grated
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1½ tbsp Red chili powder (Adjust according to taste)
  • 3 tbsp Oil (Sesame oil is best but we can any oil available at home)
  • 1 tsp Roasted fenugreek seeds powder
  • Pinch of high
  • ⅛ tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  1. Firstly heat a pan and add in oil, mustard seeds, grated mango, kashmiri chili powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, hing. Give a mix and cook till the oil separates.

  2. Later add in roasted fenugreek seeds powder and salt to taste. Give a mix and cook for another 2 minutes in low flame. And then switch off the flame.

  3. Finally the Raw Mango Thokku is ready to serve.

  1. We can store Raw Mango Thokku in air tight container and refrigerate it for more shelf life.
