Radish paratha Recipe or chapati is one of the healthy and delicious flatbread recipes. As it is filled with nutrients, this paratha contains not only radishes but also a variety of leafy vegetables too. Further, it goes well with pickle, curd, or any thick gravy of your choice. 

 

Parathas are one of the most common and traditional flatbreads in Indian Cousins. Further, it is prepared by using whole wheat flour or maida i.e., all-purpose flour. Usually, parathas are cooked on tawa (pan) by baking in the oven or by shallow frying like Poori. 

 

Traditionally, parathas are served with a scoop of white butter on top of it. And other side dishes that can be served with parathas are fried egg, thick curd, pickle, or gravy such as jeera aloo, dal fry or dal tadka, raita, chicken or mutton curry, etc. And it can be served as a breakfast or even as a main course too.

 

 

INGREDIENTS:

Wheat flour, radish grated, fengreek leaves, spring onion, coriander leaves, curry leaves, green chili, cumin seeds, oil, salt to taste, water as required, ghee optional.

Instead of doing plain chapati we can add vegetables and make it healthier and tastier. It can be one of the most filling and healthy breakfasts for kids. 

One of the most popular and common stuffing is spiced potatoes. And other alternatives used for stuffing are grated radish, leaf vegetables, cauliflower, paneer, green peas, etc. 

Parathas are thicker than chapatis or rotis. But in the case of plain paratha, they have been layered by spreading oil or ghee by folding multiple times.

Name of the Paratha differs from one region to another. Such as, parantha, parauntha, prontha, parontay, paronthi, parota, palata, porotha, forota, farata, roti, prata.

Radish and Leafy Vegetable Chapati

It is a healthy and tasty recipe. It goes well with curd, pickle, any gravies of your choice.

  • 2 Cups Wheat Flour
  • 1 nos. Radish
  • ¼ cup Fenugreek leaves
  • 2 tbsp Spring Onion
  • 1 tbsp Coriander leaves
  • 1 spring Curry leaves
  • 1 nos. Green Chili
  • ¼ tsp Cumin seeds
  • Oil (as required)
  • Salt (as per taste)
  • Water (as required)
  • Ghee (Optional)
  1. Take a large bowl. Add in Grated Radish, Fenugreek leaves, Coriander leaves, Curry leaves, Spring Onion.



  2. Now add in two cups of Wheat flour, salt, Oil, Cumin seed.



  3. Mix well and start kneading a dough.



  4. Make a small balls and flatten them further with the help of rolling pin. Now put the chapati on the pan and cook them from both sides. Spread some ghee or oil on both the sides.



  5. Now the healthy and tasty vegetable chapati is ready to serve with curd, gravies of your choice.

FAQ:

Is Parathas and Roti are same?

Parathas are different from roti, chapati, naan. Because parathas are stuffed with vegetables and other spices too. Plain parathas have layering in it which is done by folding multiple times. where are roti’s are thin when compared to parathas and not stuffing will be there.
