PORULVILANGAI URUNDAI

Is a traditional, healthy and tasty South Indian sweet recipe. Further it has got a long shelf life. It is prepared using roasted rice, moong dal, roasted peanuts, roasted chana, little salt, jaggery syrup, ginger powder, water as required. Further it is very hard to bit as we not adding any ghee, butter or sugar. It is one of the best snack for children.

HOW TO MAKE PORULVILANGAI URUNDAI:

Firstly dry roast rice till slightly brown and allow it to cool down completely.

Then dry roast moong dal till golden brown or we get a nice aroma.

Grind moong dal and rice into a smooth powder.

Ground roasted moong dal, rice powder.

Heat a pan and add in oil or ghee, cut dry coconuts. Fry till it changes brown.

Add in roasted peanuts, roasted Chana, dry coconuts.

In a pan add in 1/2 cup water, jaggery, ginger powder. Allow it to boil till the right consistency.

Boil till right consistency. When you drop the jaggery syrup in water, if you roll it should form a ball shape. Then it is a right consistency.

Add in jaggery syrup and give a mix.

PORULVILANGAI URUNDAI

  • Pan
  • Mixer jar
  • Large plate
  • 1 cup Rice
  • ½ cup Moong dal
  • 3 tbsp Roasted chana
  • 1 cup Peanuts
  • 3 tbsp Dry coconuts
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Ginger powder
  • 1 cup Jaggery

  2. Then dry roast moong dal till golden brown or we get a nice aroma.

  3. Grind moong dal and rice into a smooth powder.

  4. Ground roasted moong dal, rice powder.

  5. Heat a pan and add in oil or ghee, and cut dry coconuts. Fry till it changes brown.

  6. Add in little salt., roasted peanuts, roasted Chana, and dry coconuts.

  7. In a pan add 1/2 cup water, jaggery, and ginger powder. Allow it to boil till the right consistency.

  8. Boil till the right consistency. When you drop the jaggery syrup in water, if you roll it should form a ball shape. Then it is the right consistency.

  9. Add in jaggery syrup and give a mix.

  10. Try to form round-shaped laddus.

  11. Finally, Porivilangai urundai is ready to eat.
