Mysore pak Recipe

Mysore pak is an Indian sweet recipe prepared in ghee. So, the ingredients used in this recipe are gram flour, sugar, ghee and cardamom powder (optional). It is traditionally served in weddings and in festivals like diwali and even in other festivals also.

Mysore Pak is cut into squares or rectangular in shape, hard and porous when made with less ghee, soft and dense when made with generous amount of ghee, and the color is yellow to light brown due to gram flour (roasted).

Mysore Pak Recipe

Mysore Pak Recipe is one of the South Indian popular sweet recipe, prepared during festivals, weddings and other special occasions.

  • 1 Cup Gram Flour
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • ½ Cup Ghee
  • ¼ Cup Oil
  • ⅛ tsp Cardamom powder (Optional)
  • ⅓ Cup Water
  1. Firstly take a pan and melt ghee and oil and keep it aside.

  2. On the another pan add in sugar and water, allow it boil till you get one string consistency (paka).

  3. Now add in gram flour slowly into the sugar mixture and mix it without any lumps.

  4. Add in ghee batch by batch and keep on stirring till the ghee separates.

  5. Now grease the pan with oil or ghee and pour the mysore pak mixture into the mold and allow it to cool for 10 minutes.

  6. Now cut the mysore pak into square or rectangle space. Cool them completely and serve.
