Chettinad Curry Powder

Chettinad Curry powder is a freshly ground masala powder. It has got a special spicy aroma. This curry powder can be used for making egg curry, chicken fry or curry, mutton curry, mixed vegetable curry and so on. Usually I make this powder for making chettinad egg drop curry. It is one of my favorite curry it goes well with roti, rice, parathas.

 

So, the ingredients used in this recipe are dry red chilies, coriander seeds, poppy seeds, cloves, cinnamon sticks, star anise, fennel seeds, cardamom pods, stone flower, cumin seeds, pepper corns, marathi moggu or kapok buds.

How to make Chettinad Curry Powder

Take all the required spices and keep it ready.

Heat a pan and add in little oil and all the spices. Dry roast them for 3 to 5 minutes in low flame.

Allow it cool and then ground them into a fine powder.

Chettinad Curry Powder is ready. Store it in an air tight container.

 

Chettinad Curry Powder

Chettinad Curry Powder is a fresh aromatic curry powder used for making egg curry, chicken curry and even for mixed vegetable curry.

  • Frying pan
  • Mixer jar
  • 3 tbsp Coriander seeds
  • 11 Dry Red Chilies
  • 1 tsp Pepper corns
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Poppy seeds
  • 6 Cloves
  • 2 inch Cinnamon sticks
  • 3 Cardamom
  • 2 Star Anise
  • 2 tsp Fennel seeds
  • Little Stone flower
  • 1 Marathi Moggu
  1. Take all the required spices and keep it read.

  2. Heat a pan and add in little oil and all the ingredients and fry for 5 minutes in low flame or till it slightly changes its color.

  3. Allow it cool down completely.

  4. Ground them into a fine powder and store them in an air tight container.
